My name is Josephine Bacon and my passion is mushrooms and toadstools. I am also a freelance journalist, writer and above all a translator and editor. I have translated over 100 books from French and Hebrew, and edited countless more, from foreign languages as well as into/from British and American English. I lived in the USA for four years where I contributed to many publications and had a regular column in the food and travel pages of the “Los Angeles Herald Examiner”.
I have written 20 books, including a travel guide to Israel, a travel guide and two Jewish histories. The rest are cookery books and three books about mushrooms (one in French for Canada).
When I first went out mushrooming in Cornwall at the age of nine, I little dreamed that so many years later I would get the chance to write three books on fungi. Here are some images from the cover of the first mushroom book I wrote and a link to the website from which you can order it.
