My name is Josephine Bacon and I am a fungus fanatic! I am also a freelance journalist, writer and above all a translator and editor. I have translated over 100 books from French and Hebrew, and edited countless more, from foreign languages as well as into/from British and American English. I lived in the USA for four years and worked on the food and travel pages of the “Los Angeles Herald Examiner”.
I have written 14 books, including a travel guide to Israel, a travel guide and two Jewish histories. The rest are cookery books.


When I first went out mushrooming in Cornwall at the age of nine, I little dreamed that so many years later I would get the chance to write three books on fungi.
